Wanyeki Mahiaini - Project Co-ordinator

There are two defining moments in my Christian life. The first came when I came under the amazing conviction that the Bible is actually the revealed word of God. The second was when I realised that the surest way to change people is to let them hear God speak to them personally through the Bible. Both these moments were the end of quite a struggle with belief in the context of living in the third world. I came away from it all committed to letting God's word shape my world view. I believe a Christian world view makes for a more complete human experience for all cultures.

I have some experience leading seminars on issues with particular interest to Africa at Word Alive, Careforce conference and co leading one at The Evangelical Missionary Alliance conference 98. I have been a member of the Africa board of Tearfund and I am currently serving on Africa Inland Mission Council.
I have worked as a UCCF staff worker in the following institutions. King's college, Strand, The London School of Economics, City university, Queen Mary Westfield, Imperial college, South bank university and The university of Westminster.

I designed and led a year long leadership training course (LET) for 15 Christian union leaders in London. We covered four areas; A Bible overview, Evangelism in the contemporary student world, Leadership and Discipleship. The main sessions were taken by people whom God has used widely in those areas (See comments on LET below.)

In my ‘former life’ I was a lecturer in Pycholinguistics and Academic Commnunication skills in Egerton university (Kenya). I also worked as a trainer in human resource management (one year in Kenya) besides working as a staff worker with UCCF in Britain.
